The academic year 2016 - 2017 has once again provided our school with the opportunity for the pupils to show their talents in a wide variety of Sporting arenas and deliver at the highest level in Wales.

Highlights include Indoor Rowing Team Welsh Champions – 2nd consecutive year – U18 Milano Gymnastics Welsh Champions (Team represented Wales in the British Championships in Stoke) Yr 9 Rugby and Hockey being ranked in the top 8 in Wales and our U14 and U16 girls Athletics teams, alongside U16 Boys Athletics in reaching the Welsh Schools finals - coming 3rd, 5th and 6th in Brecon. Year 7 Football made it to the last 16 in Wales, not bad for their first year in High school.

These teams are underpinned by successes at regional and local level.

Regional and County Caps for Ethan Clayden and Ethan Phillips U16 Rugby, Amelia Ashill, Ellie Allsopp and Caitlin Price National Age Grade Hockey. Jack and Shay Ryan for Tennis. Scarlett Major and Kameron Clarke British National Swimming.

Finally, the PE Department also enter tournaments Internationally. U14 Rugby gained 6th place, in defending the trophy, at The Challenge Jean Roy in La Roche sur Yon, France and U14 Hockey travelled to Holland to become tournament Winners and Bronze medallists with Yr 8 & 9 teams.

Alongside the school our Ex Students continue to excel with Hannah Cozens, Roseanne Thomas and Abi Welsford playing Wales Hockey in European Hockey Championships in Cardiff this month.
