On Tuesday July 11th four Year 12 students represented the school at the Welsh Baccalaureate Dragons's Den Business Class finals. The four students were Oliver Johnson, Joel Wells, Matthew Evans and Aaron Berrow.  The team beat off fierce competition from the other Newport Secondary Schools to impress the three judges and secure first place.

Our students created a fantastic, innovative idea in conjunction with Zodiac Aerospace.  They were tasked with designing a premium head support for passengers on first class flights.  This proposal was implemented through the The Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) and was supported by the Design and Technology department, supervised by Miss Gibbs.

The judges were full of praise for the idea and the students' ability to confidently deliver a professional presentation to a room of 40 people.  They also commented that the Business Plan they devised was better and more detailed that many they see for their businesses.
Here are the team being presented with their award.
