Once again this July, the french department ran a very successful trip to France.  61 year 7 students and 7 staff visited a beautiful Chateau in northern France.  The students visited a snail farm where they ate snails! There was a fabulous trip to a wheat farm where students made their own bread and ate it later on whilst enjoying an authentic French meal.  Other trips included a visit to a French market and a supermarket, making mayonnaise from scratch with the Chateau chef and the highlight, spending the day at Parc Asterix.  All of this was over the weekend when France won the world cup and it was Bastille day so our students also joined in the celebrations with fireworks!  A fab time was had by all.  Lots of memories created and a great insight for our young Caerleon students into the French way of life.
